Pizza dough recipe
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 tsp. dry yeast
- I pinch of sugar
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 1/2 cups cold water
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt.
- Toppings
- tomato sauce
- basil
- oregano
- garlic powder
- green peppers
- mushrooms
- cooked bacon
- pepperoni
- grated mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Sprinkle yeast and sugar over warm water. Let stand for 10 min.
- Put in food processor with 1 1/2 cups cold water. Blend. Run machine. Gradually add 4 1/2 cups flour and 1 tsp. salt. blend until soft sticky ball forms.
- Lightly oil large bowl. Place dough in bowl and cover with plastic wrap or clean tea towel. Let rise for 2 hours.
- Spread out on 2 greased pizza pans shaping dough with your hands. Add tomato sauce and twice as much basil as oregano and a little garlic powder, green peppers, mushrooms, cooked bacon, pepperoni and lots of grated mozzarella cheese.
- Bake: 450F for 15 minutes.
- You can mix the liquid ingredients together in a blender or by hand and then stir in the flour. Knead the dough a little to form a ball.
- Microwave Quick Rise - to reduce rising time to about 1 hour.
- Place dough in greased microwavable bowl. Cover with waxed paper. Place bowl in baking dish filled with 2 cups hot water. Micro wave on low (P3) for 1 min. Let stand for 15 min. Repeat about twice more or until dough has doubled in volume.
